GANDOCA MANZANILLO WILDLIFE REFUGE

Description: If there is a critter to be seen, Manzanillo’s charismatic and well-trained guides will find it as they guide you through the refuge’s labyrinth of trails. Hike on the Refuge’s inner trails and the beach. Go to Punta Mona where you can go for a dip in the sea, enjoy a boat ride back or try an early-morning boat ride in search of dolphins accompanied with a glorious hike out through the Refuge back to Manzanillo. Learn the historical and medicinal uses of typical plant life and check out the tropical birds and animals. Birders bring your binoculars; these guys can identify a bird a mile away. Moderate-difficult hike, you’ll get muddy. No Flip Flops!

HALF DAY HIKE

Description: One of the best trips for wildlife viewing in the whole of Costa Rica. This will take you on some of the Refuge’s inner trails, or you can explore the bluffs and tiny hidden beaches along the coast. Go early for the best opportunity for exquisite bird watching. Tino is willing to start 5:30AM even!
Duration: About 4-5 hours

Rate: $35 per person

LONG HIKE

Description: This is an all day trip to see some of the most beautiful scenery on the Caribbean coast. You will follow the inland trail or the coastal trail until reaching Punta Mona where you can swim and snorkel.

Duration: 8-10 hours
Cost: $50 per person

LONG HIKE IN, BOAT OUT

Description: Experience the hike to Punta Mona with all its glories and make arrangements to come back by boat, take the opportunity to see where the path along which you hiked from the vantage point of the sea. (Tour the Perma-Culture/ organic garden on Punta Mona for a small additional investment.)
Duration: 6-7 hour hike & 45 minute boat ride

Rate: $50 per person plus the boat expense (approx. $60 extra for the boat, gas is expensive)

Boat expense: Group of 2 people = $30 each

Group of 3 people = $20 each

Group of 4 people = $15 each

CAHUITA NATIONAL PARK

Description: Enjoy a guided hike in the national park to Cahuita point and spend the afternoon snorkeling off a small motorized dugout boat.

Duration: 2-3 hours or all day with a hike

Rate: $25 per person with snorkel only

$40 per person for a 3 hour hike and then a couple hours snorkeling
